After Makungu Waweru recently turned one, now Makungu in Germany also celebrated its first birthday. During a fun filled Saturday afternoon Makungu’s supporters came together in Munich to have a great party. With a delicious birthday cake and fun activities the event was a success. We want so say thank you to all our supporters who made it possible for Makungu to come so far. Now we are excited to see what the next year brings and where Makungu‘s journey is headed.
As of recently you can find Makungu on Instagram. We hope to see you there and are excited to share more of our daily life with you!
Last month Liz celebrated her birthday with a small party and all the children. In Kenya it is a longstanding tradition, that the birthday girl or boy has to feed all their guests with cake, so Liz did just that. Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to the next celebration at Care Home!
Yesterday we finally reached 300 likes here on our Facebook page! We are so grateful for each and everyone of you & all the continued support you show us. We are excited for the future & are looking forward to the next 300 likes!
Recently we had the opportunity to present Makungu to the Rotaract Club Passau. We are very grateful for every opportunity to spread the word and tell people about Makungu. So thank you Rotaract Club Passau for giving us this platform and a great evening.
Big thank you to the DHBW Heidenheim for writing this amazing piece about Makungu!
Right after Easter Marina put on an Easter concert to raise money for Makungu. Songs were performed in a small, intimate setting accompanied by guitar or piano. Thank you so much for everyone who stopped by, donated and had a great time! A special thank you goes out to Till Luz (http://till-luz.format.com) who took these amazing pictures.
We are already planning our next event and looking forward to see you all there. Stay tuned for further information!
Last month marked Makungu Waweru’s first birthday. We were so happy to spend time with the kids celebrating this amazing day and enjoying a lot of candy.
Last weekend a good friend of Marina named Benedikt celebrated his birthday with friends and family. He asked the guests not to buy him presents but instead to donate to Makungu e.V. Thanks to that we were able to collect money we urgently need right now. In addition, Marina was able to give a small speech about the organization and explained the state-of-the-art in Kenya.
Therefore we would like to thank all donators and especially Benedikt who made this possible! The Makungu team wishes you all the best for the years ahead, joy, happiness and good luck!
Just recently we received a new donation: Some nice sofas for our apartment! We are really happy about this gift because it makes the apartment more and more homely. Thank you a lot!
